Help Give Us A Permanent Home! 

Dear Potential Donor,

For the past three years we have been operating out of tents and rented spaces hoping to find a permanent cabin in the woods to call our own. Well, the wait is over! A local property owner who believes in what we do has offered us the first opportunity to purchase a parcel just up river from our tent site which houses a large two-story, very private, off-grid cabin complete with everything we'll need to put this cabin into operation. It is an absolute dream come true! 

Now we just need to raise the funds to make this opportunity our reality!

This unique property would:

• • give us a permanent home for much of our gear and equipment, 

  • provide a suitable space for winter programming, 

  • eliminate the need for evacuation or relocation during thunderstorms and inclement weather, 

  • and create space for us to offer additional workshops and trainings which will be of even greater benefit to the community at large. 

This property will also be available for other income-generating uses (such as retreats and rentals) which could supplement our grant and foundation support, assuring that our programming continues to remain FREE for all youth who want or need it. 

At The Barra School, Inc, we believe in the power of community. We believe that in sacred reciprocity with the natural world we can heal and restore harmony within ourselves, each other, our communities, nations, and the planet as a whole. 

In honor of the Abenaki people who once watched over the land we are blessed to be in relationship with, we hope to, with your support, become the lifetime caretakers and stewards of this beautiful cabin and its accompanying ten acres overlooking the Waits River on MacArthur Ridge Trail.
